"This is a photo of the banner I made for our parish's affiliation (chapter) of the Council of Catholic Women, in Coral Springs, FL. 'Our Lady of Good Counsel', one of the Virgin Mary's many depictions, is the patroness of our organization. The Council of Catholic Women is the world's largest women's organization and is represented at the United Nations. I used the commercial-size version on my Husqvarna Ruby, using Madeira rayon thread, embroidered on upholstery-weight cotton moire fabric, interlined with cotton duck. The banner measures 22" x 34", plus trim.
The ladies were delighted with the beauty of the photo-stitch technique.
I had actually sent this in to you a couple of years ago to see about having it digitized, and you did so and added it to your catalog!! I was thrilled! I've done both sizes; I used the larger one for this banner, and have stitched out the smaller one numerous times as framed pieces, for gifts and as auction items for our various fund-raisers. It makes a beautiful project for many occasions."
The embroidery design is Our Lady of Good Counsel after Pasquale Sarullo.
