"For Christmas 2013, I made this king size "Floral Wreaths" Quilt for my sister-in-law to match some newly installed window valances featuring rose and daisy wreaths. I embroidered several of the rose and daisy designs including Daisies, Cherokee Rose, North Dakota Rose, Imperial Tea Roses, Sophy's Rose, and Wild Rose, using various shades of pink, yellow and lavender to match the colors in the valances. The quilt is pieced using the "Flowergate Crossings" pattern designed by Sue Harvey and Sandy Boobar, Pine Tree Country Quilts, (Quilt Magazine, Feb/Mar 2012), but replacing the fussy cut florals with the embroidered florals in the wreath-like pattern. I enjoy using all of the Advanced Embroidery Designs I have purchased, especially the photo stitched ones. They are complex and truly eye-catching."
