This cozy winter throw is a great last-minute project. It took us only a few hours. Embellished with one-color embroidery, it makes a unique and useful gift that will be appreciated for many years to come.
The finished size of the throw is about 63" x 72", but you can easily make it bigger or smaller, depending on your preferences.
You will need 2 yards of light-colored fleece, satin blanket binding for finishing the edges and embroidery threads. We chose white fleece, bright red binding and bright red thread for the embroidery.
We used the following one-color designs from the Christmas Section of our catalog:
Star of Bethlehem, Christmas Lantern, Christmas Stocking, Christmas Bells, Christmas Ornament Lace, Christmas Stocking, Three Candles, Christmas Bell Horn, Elf on Reindeer, Christmas Bell, Fir-Trees in Snow, and Christmas Eve.
All of them are for the Large (5" x 7") hoop.
Some of the designs are cutwork lace, though we did not make the cut-outs, and some are one-color satin stitch designs.
Print out screenshots of the designs and arrange them on the fleece. When you are satisfied with their positions, pin them in place. Start embroidering the designs one by one.
We did not use any stabilizer. However, you need to hoop the fleece very tightly and without creases.
After you make the embroidery, finish the raw edges with satin blanket binding.
The throw is ready. Enjoy!
