These are instructions on how you can embroider the design of the Snowflake #18005.
Stitches: 43137 Size: 196.3 x 224.8 mm Colors: 2
The design is made in satin-stitch and can be embroidered as a regular design on fabric stabilized with appropriate stabilizer. However you can also embroider it as a "freestanding" design. Please read the following instructions.
You will need organza or tulle, water-soluble stabilizer and embroidery threads, preferably polyester.
Needles: We use size 80/12 embroidery needles and 80/12 metallic needles. The needles should be sharp, so try to change them after every project.
Hooping: Hoop a layer of organza with a layer of watersoluble mesh. If you use tulle, hoop the layer of tulle between 2 layers of stabilizer. It's very important to hoop the organza/tulle/stabilizer VERY tightly, like a drum skin. If your hoop does not hold them well (this often happens because the layers are very thin), we recommend to wrap muslin strips around the long sides of your hoop's upper frame, like you can see in the picture below. Pin the protruding edges of the layers to the muslin wraps.
Embroider the file.
Cut away the excess organza/tulle and stabilizer around the stitch-out.
Rinse away the stabilizer in luke-warm water and leave to air dry on a towel.
Lay the design flat on a towel and leave to air dry.
You can use the sitch-outs as doilies, coasters, window and tree ornaments.
