- a sweatshirt of any color,
- a piece of fabric for embroidery that contrasts with the sweatshirt,
- embroidery threads either polyester or rayon - black for a light fabric, or light grey for dark fabric,
- tiny yellow and green buttons for the cats' eyes (optional),
- light-weight tear-away embroidery stabilizer,
- quilter's ruler, chalk pencil, rotary cutter or scissors,
- rotary cutter,
- iron,
- #12 universal needle.
Embroidery:
Stabilize and hoop your fabric tightly. Upload the Halloween Cat into your machine. Embroider the designs one by one.
With the ruler and chalk pencil, draw a rectangle around the stitch-outs, leaving about 1" margins.
Cut out the rectangle. If you have shears with a zig-zag edge, use it. Press the stitch-out and remove excess stabilizer around the embroidery.
Optional: sew tiny yellow and green buttons for the eyes. You can also sew tiny bows on the cats' necks.
Determine the position of the patch on the sweatshirt it. Pin in place.
Topstitch the patch in place along the outer edge, seam allowance 1/"- 1/4". |
Additionally, you can decorate the neck of the sweatshirt with a bow. |
Have fun! |
