Small Spring Quilt with Dandelion and Butterfly Embroidery
This small quilt is very easy to make, but it's so cute that it makes a wonderful gift. We used designs from the Dandelion Set and Buttefly Applique Set.

The finished size of the tablerunner is about 13 1/2" x 13 1/2".

Small quilt with blue central part and embroidery of a dandelion and butterflies on it, yellow and green borders.

You will need :

  • light blue piece of fabric for the central part,
  • scraps of yellow fabric for the first border and butterfly applique,
  • green fabric for the borders and binding,

Embroidery:
From the Dandelion Set and Buttefly Applique Set choose the designs you like best. We chose the smallest butterflies.

Mark the position of the embroidery on the central part. If you have a printer and embroidery software, print-outs of the designs can be helpful. If you do not, you can cut out rectangles of the same size as the designs and arrange them on the fabric to determine the position of the embroidery.

Stabilize the chosen area. Hoop the fabric tightly and embroider the designs one by one.

Cut away the excess stabilizer.

Quilting and Finishing
Now place the backing on a flat surface (table) face down. Cover with batting. Spread your working piece over it.

Pin all layers together.

We quilted in a free-motion style all over the quilt.

Press with heavy steam. Square the quilt. Finish the raw edges with the binding.

Have fun!
