This quilted Christmas-themed table topper features a plethora of embroidery designs.
For the central part we used one of the designs from the Snowflake Set, (there are 3 snowflakes in the set, you can use any of them) and tiny snowflakes from the Small Snowflakes Redwork Set. For the border we used the designs from the Pine Woods Set, and Abstract Pine Trees Set, embroidered in the corners
The finished size of the table topper is about 34 1/2" square.
We chose Christmas colors for the table topper, however you can make it winter-themed in blue hues.

Embroidery:
Mark the position of the embroidery on the central part. If you have a printer and embroidery software, print-outs of the designs can be helpful. If you do not, you can cut out paper shapes of the same size as the designs and arrange them on the fabric to determine the position of the embroidery. The large snowflake should be right in the center of the green square. The small snowflakes are around the large one in any order you like.
Stabilize the chosen area. Hoop the fabric tightly and embroider the designs one by one on the central square.
On the white border, embroider the pine trees. We used the designs from the Abstract Pine Trees Set in the corners and the designs from the Pine Woods Set along the sides. |
Remove the excess stabilizer around every stitch-out immediately after you make it. |
Quilting and Finishing
Now place the backing on a flat surface (table) face down. Cover with batting. Spread your working piece over it.
Pin all layers together.
We quilted in a free-motion style all over the quilt. |
Press with heavy steam. Square the quilt. Finish the raw edges with the binding. |
Have fun! |
