Bargello Bookmark Set #16940
These are instructions on how to embroider designs from the Bargello Bookmark Set .There are 3 designs in the set, all of them are for the large hoop (5" x 7").

You will need :
  • embroidery threads either polyester or rayon, we offer colors cards, but feel free to select your own colors,
  • light-weight cut-away stabilizer,
  • Polyester craft felt of different colors, or thin faux leather,
  • either Oly Fun (multi-purpose craft material) of any color, or light-weight Lutradur, or light-weight non-woven interfacing for the lining (optional).
Embroidery:
Hoop the cut-away stabilizer, tighten the hoop.

Place a piece of felt or faux leather over the stabilizer, baste or pin outside the embroidery field.

Print out the color card. Upload the design of your choice into the machine.
Embroider the design up to the last color.
Design embroidered up to the last color.

Take the hoop from the machine and with a pair of sharp scissors, cut away the felt/leather around the embroidery close to the stitches, leaving margins about 1mm.

The back of the stitch-out looks fine, but in case you'd like to close it, take a piece of lining. The piece should be larger than the design, and cover with it the back of the embroidery.

Pin the lining to the back of the embroidery.
Pin the lining to the back outside the embroidery area.

Return the hoop to the machine and finish the embroidery. Open the hoop.
Cut away the excess lining and stabilizer.

Project idea - bracelets
You will need:
  • ribbon ends, 1" - 1 1/2" wide,
  • bracelet/necklace closures,
  • jewelry pliers and other jewelry tools depending on the accessories you use.
Attach ribbon ends to the short edges of the stitch-out.

Then the attach closures.

You can use other types of closures as well, such as shown below. You'll have to hand-sew them to the stitch-outs.
