Sewing the Sachet/Pillow
Cut out a 5 1/2" square for the backing.
Align and pin the ruffled lace along the edges of the square with the embroidery. The ruffled edge should go along the square's edges, the free edge of the lace should point to the inside. Slightly curve the lace in the corners. Overlap the ends.
Topstitch the lace in place along its outer, ruffled, edge. Seam allowance 1/4".
Cover the working piece with the backing, right side inwards. Align and pin the edges.
Stitch the parts together from the front, using the lace-stitched line as a guide. Cut the fabric away to round the corners. Leave a 2" opening on one of the sides.
Notch the fabric at the corners.
Throught the opening turn the working piece right side out,
Through the opening, fill in the case with whatever stuffing you prepared - herbs and petals, or polyester fill.
Hand-stitch the opening closed.
