These are instructions on how to embroider and assemble the Fancy Collar or Crown for a commercial size hoop (8" x 12").
You will need :
Embroidery:
Make a "sandwich" out of tulle and watersoluble stabilizer: a layer of stabilizer - a layer of tulle - a layer of stabilizer. Hoop it.
Upload the embroidery file of the collar/crown into the machine and embroider it.
After the embroidery is done, wash away the stabilizer and spread the stitch-out flat to air dry.
After it dries, cut away the excess tulle around the stitch out.
Making a Collar or Crown:
Fold the ribbon in half lengthwise around the lower edge of the stitch-out, leaving the ends on both sides for ties. Using a matching thread, starting about 1" from the side, sew the ribbon to the stitch-out as shown, finish about 1" before the other side.
You can also decorate the stitch-out with beads or crystals.
The crown/collar is ready.
You can wear it in different ways. Here the collar is down and the ends of the ribbon are tied in front.
Another way is to wear it like a tudor collar. In this case, we recommend to sew the ribbon to the garment.
Your doll can also wear it as a crown, if you put it on her head and tie the ribbon behind her neck.
Finish the raw edges with the binding.
Enjoy!
