These are instructions on how to embroider the designs from the Easter Bunny Applique Set.
Size: 109mm x 126mm (4.19" x 4.85"). Stitches: 5703. Colors: 6. You can embroider these designs on a base fabric as regular applique, or make them freestanding. You will need :
Embroidery: Note: both designs are embroidered in the same way. Stabilize the base fabric with light-weight cut-away stabilizer. Hoop it tightly. If you are making the freestanding version, hoop a piece of polyester craft felt. The first color will embroider the outline of a rabbit and stop.
Cover the outline with a piece of applique fabric. Start the machine. It will embroider the same outline over the applique fabric and stop.
With a pair of sharp scissors, cut away the fabric around the outline as close to the stitches as possible.
Return the hoop to the machine. Start it again. The next, third, color will embroider the rabbit's nose and cheeks. We recommend pink for this.
The fifth color will embroider the outline of the rabbit again. If you're making regular applique, you can skip this color.
Cover the back of the embroidery with a piece of applique fabric. Pin the fabric outside the embroidery field, or use scotch tape to hold the edges. Return the hoop to the machine.
Start the machine. After it embroiders the outline it will stop again. With a pair of sharp scissors cut away the fabric around the outline.
Return the hoop to the machine and finish the embroidery.
Cut away the felt around the stitch-out. Your freestanding design is done.
As a final touch for a freestanding embroidery, you can glue a small pom-pom to the back of the rabbit as a tail.
Enjoy!
