Clothes Decorated with Freestanding Flowers

In this tutorial we give you some idea on how you can decorate your clothes with the designs from the Free Standing Flower Set.

The first project is shoes:

You will need :

• embroidery threads (rayon or polyester), color to your taste,
• polyester organza or chiffon of any color,
• light-weight water soluble film stabilizer, such as Solvy by Sulky, Avalon by Madeira
• small scissors,
• sewing thread and needle, or fabric glue,
• small beads (optional),
• a pair of canvas shoes.

Note: you can use shoes of other materials as well, however, you may need to use a different type of glue, appropriate to the material.

Shoes:

Following the instructions, embroider the designs from the Free Standing Flower Set in the color palette you need for your project. Our flowers are in blue, white and green hues.
Cut out the stitch-outs.

Wash away the stabilizer and lay the stitch-outs on a towel to dry. Do not press.

Combine the stitch-outs to form flowers - you can use 2-3 layers. Sew them together. Pin onto shoes.

When you are satisfied with the layout, start to sew the flowers onto the shoes.
You can use small beads to make the centers of the flowers.

Our next project is a dress. You will need the same materials and tools as described above, but instead of shoes, you'll need a dress.
We used a ready-made summer dress of one solid color.
We made the flowers on white organza using white and scarlet threads.

Make as many stitch-outs as you'd like, following the instructions. When they are ready, pin the flowers to the dress in any combination you want.

When you are satisfied with the layout, start attaching the flowers to the dress. We used seed beads to form the centers of the flowers.
