Embroidery
Step One: Hoop the base fabric with light-weight cut-away stabilizer. Upload the files. Start the machine. The first color will embroider the outline of the design.
Step Two: On the right side, cover the outline with a piece of applique fabric. For trapunto effect, on the back side, cover the outline with a piece of craft felt (optional). Fasten the felt either with temporary adhesive or with pins. Pin the felt outside the embroidery area.
Start the machine. It will embroider the same outline over the fabric.
Start Three: With a pair of sharp scissors, cut away the fabric around the outline.
Then, on the wrong side, cut away the felt around the outline.
Step Four: Cover the embroidery with organza square. Fasten the organza with pins outside the embroidery area.
Step Five: Return the hoop to the machine and finish the embroidery.
Take the block from the hoop and trim it to the needed size.
We made a tablerunner with the blocks. Organza creates a beautiful shimmering effect beautiful by candle- and sunlight.
You can read about how to sew the tablerunner on the project page.
