These are instructions on how to embroider the Happy Easter Freestanding Bottle Apron design.
You will need embroidery thread (either polyester or rayon), embroidery cotton thread (for the lace), applique fabric and water-soluble mesh stabilizer.
Emboridery
Step One: Hoop 1-2 layers of water-soluble mesh stabilizer. Thread the needle with embroidery thread. Position a piece of applique fabric over the frame. Start embroidering. The machine will embroider an outline of the apron and stop.
Step Two: With a pair of sharp scissors cut away the excess applique fabric as close to the outline as possible.
Step Three: Return the hoop to the machine. Following the color card, and using either polyester or rayon threads, embroider colors 2-9. These colors will embroider the rooster and "Happy Easter".
Step Four: Change thread to cotton. This is important, because color 10 embroiders the lace. Start the machine. It will embroider the edge lace.
For colors 11-13, switch back to polyester or rayon threads.
Step Five: Take the hoop from the machine. Place a piece of applique fabric on the back of the embroidery. You can either glue (use fabric glue stick) or pin it in place with small pins to the stabilizer.
Return the hoop to the machine and start it. It will embroider the outline to fasten the lining.
Step Six: With a pair of sharp scissors cut away the excess fabric on the back of the hoop.
Step Seven: Return the hoop to the machine. Finish embroidery.
Step Eight: With a ripper cut through the button hole.
Step Nine: Cut away the excess stabilizer. Rinse away the remainder. Let the apron dry. Press with iron if needed. Put on a bottle, insert the narrow end into the button hole.
