This machine embroidery design is part of our Cutwork Lace Butterflies collection. It uses the Cutwork Lace technique. It will fit the Large hoop (5" x 7").
To embroider this design, hoop the fabric with a layer of water soluble mesh. Start embroidering. The machine will embroider the outline of the design and stop.
Take the hoop from the machine. With a pair of sharp scissors cut away the fabric. The areas of fabric which are meant to be removed are darkened in the picture.
Return the hoop to the machine and finish embroidering.Wash away the stabilizer, leave to air dry, then press the embroidery with steam.
We used the design to decorate a T-shirt.
To make the knit fabric more stable, we used organza along with water-soluble stabilizer. When cutting, we cut away only the fabric and did not cut the organza layer.
After the embroidering was finished, we cut both the stabilizer and the organza close to the outline of the butterfly. Then we washed away the stabilizer and pressed the embroidery.
You can embellish the embroidery with hot fix crystals.
