"This jacket began as a man's white XXX large sweatshirt. The perfect canvas for creating a fun sweatshirt jacket, the large size would provide plenty of fabric to play with. After cutting it up, I rust dyed the pieces, then over dyed the fabric using ecru fabric dye. Thinking the results of the rust dying looked Southwestern, that became the theme for the jacket. I scoured through my stash to find most of the accent fabrics used, in tones of brown, black, and turquoise. Bargello
piecing adorns the sleeves, piping accents the collar, and turquoise binding pulls it all together. Embroidery designs provided by the "Southwestern Indian Motive Set" dance around the front and back. Large asymmetrical gold buttons provide closure. Paired with black or denim, this jacket will provide a fun and comfortable companion this year!
The embroidery designs were stitched on my Janome Memory Craft 300E embroidery machine."
