Embroidery Contest 2012

"I call my Best Project entry "Hang it on the Cross". What started as a church banner transformed into a one of a kind piece of art. As I began to stitch out the design "Jesus Christ by Carl Bloch" the face of Jesus began to come to life with a unique 3-D effect. The fabric and stitching began to bubble up in all the right places, cheek bones, chin, nose, and forehead giving the eyes a sad sunken effect. The fabric this was stitched out on was purchased from a charity rummage sale organized by a group of nuns. My father custom made the wooden cross to mount the finished stitch out on. Machine used: Brother Innovis 1500D".
