"I work full time and don't get to do as much embroidery as I'd like, so projects that can be done in stages over a long period of time are really a good fit for me.
I have made several quilts for my twin grandchildren and for my Granddaughter's 3rd Christmas, decided to make her a child size "Fairy Quilt" using the photostitch designs from Advanced Embroidery.
The machine I used is a Singer CE100 (low end) embroidery machine. I cut out square blocks of light green fabric and embroidered each design as I had time. After finishing the blocks, I put the top together using strips of darker shaded green cotton fabric. After the top was put together, I decided to add some more designs to each block to enhance the theme for each of the fairies including stitching out "Veronica's Fairy Quilt" on the block with the fairy writing with a feather quill pen. Using sticky stabilizer in the hoop, I just positioned the quilt top in the hoop so the design would stitch out where I wanted it. I used a light green fabric for the quilt backing, and machine quilted it using the same Singer CE100 on a Gracie Quilt Frame."
This contestant used the designs Little Fairies Set I and Little Fairies Set II.
