For these charming table mats, we used the designs from the Stained Glass Applique Daffodil Panel Set for the mega hoop.
The finished size of each mat is about 15" x 22".
To make 4 of the mats, you will need:
Emboridery
Embroider the designs from the Stained Glass Applique Daffodil Panel Set. You can read about how to embroider the panels on the page with instructions.
Cut away the excess stabilizer around the embroidery. Do not remove the stabilizer under the embroidery.
Sew the stitch-outs together into one panel.
Using a ruler and a rotary cutter, trim the panel leaving 1 1/2" around the embroidery. The panel will be 10" x 17".
Cutting:
For each mat:
Out of light blue (or yellow) fabric, cut
Assembly of the Top:
Sew the 2 1/2" x 17" blue strip and 3" x 17" black strip together.
Sew this strip to the lower edge of the embroidered panel.
Sew the 2 1/2" x 15" blue strips to the left and right edges of the working piece.
Quilting and Finishing:
Now place the backing on a flat surface (table) face down. Cover with batting. Spread your working piece over it.
Pin all three layers together with 1" pins and start quilting. We quilted in a free motion style all over the table mat.
After the quilting is finished, press the work with heavy steam and square the work -- all corners should be 90 degrees and opposite sides should be of the same length.
Finish the raw edges with the binding.
Your table mat is ready.
