The 2007 Embroidery Classic was a contest held by the National Network of Embroidery Professionals (NNEP). The contest included the following categories: fashion apparel and accessories, jackets, multimedia, shirts, non-apparel and framed work.
We submitted several projects to a number of the categories. We did not have any high expectations, but to our great surprise, our entries won 1st place in Non-Apparel, 1st place in Framed Work, 2nd place in Fashion Apparel and Accessories, the Creativity Award and the Grand Prize Award.
The FSL Purse and Belt Set won The Grand Prize and Creativity Award.
The FSL Crochet Forget-Me-Not Doily won First Place in the Non-Apparel category.
The photo-stitch design La Plume won First Place in the Frame Works category.
We did not expect anything like this, and we feel especially flattered that our work was rated so highly by our professional colleagues in the embroidery industry. We would like to thank the NNEP for organizing this competition and the many sponsors for making it possible.
You can read about the contest and the winners in the September-October 2007 issue of Stitches magazine.
