For this project, we started with a plain gray skirt and decorated it with designs from the Celtic Motif Set. The finished project has a rather eye-catching rustic look.
You will need
Some notes before we start. When you embroider a large or heavy piece, position your machine in the center of a table, so that the piece is supported by the table and does not hang down. This is very important! The weight of the piece will pull on the carriage and the hoop and can both ruin the embroidery and damage the machine.
We recommend to wrap the long sides of the hoop/frame with thin strips of muslin. After you stick the garment to the stabilizer, you can additionally pin it to the hoop to secure it in place.
Embroidery:
Hoop self-adhesive stabilizer with sticky side up. Remove the protective film. With the help of the grid, determine the position of the embroidery and hoop the desired location on the garment.
We embroidered the smallest design between the belt and the pleats.
For the hem, we chose the triangular and half-circle designs.
Measure the length of the hem and embroider the triangular design equal distances from each other.
Then embroider the half-circle design between the triangles.
That's it! The project is done.
Enjoy!
