These are instructions on how to embroider the designs from the Yin Yang Tree Applique.
You will need
Commercial Hoop:
Size: 199 x 199 mm (8" x 8")
Stitches: 35234
Colors: 4/7
Mega Hoop:
Size: 159 x 159 mm (6" x 6")
Stitches: 28681
Colors: 4/7
Large Hoop:
Size: 129 x 129 mm (5" x 5")
Stitches: 23582
Colors: 4/7
Embroidery
Step One: Hoop the base fabric with light-weight cut-away stabilizer. Upload the files. Start the machine. The first color will embroider the outline of the design and mark the posirion of white and black fabrics.
Step Two: Place a piece of white fabric over the area marked W.
Start the machine. It will embroider the outline over the fabric.
With a pair of sharp scissors, cut away the fabric around the outline as close to the stitches as possible. Take care not to cut through the stitches.
Note: If your base fabric is white, you can skip this step.
Start Three: Place a piece of black fabric on the area marked B.
Start the machine. It will embroider the outline over the fabric.
With a pair of sharp scissors, cut away the fabric around the outline as close to the stitches as possible. Take care not to cut through the stitches.
Note: If your base fabric is black, you can skip this step.
Step Four: Embroider the tree over the white area with black thread.
Step Five: Embroider the tree over the black area with white thread.
Step Six: Color 6 finishes the raw edges of the applique fabric. Color 7 satin stitches another circle around the embroidery and is optional. You can use any colors you like for either.
