These are instructions on how to embroider the Imperial Crown Applique design.
Size: 179.8 mm x 151.4 mm (5.16" x 5.96")
Stitches: 45732
Colors/Stops: 5/8
Besides embroidery thread (either polyester or rayon), you will need base fabric, stabilized with a stabilizer appropriate to your project and a piece of applique fabric.
We recommend to use polyester velvet. We used red, but you can choose your own colors.
You can fill in the oval spaces on the embroidery with rhinestones.
Embroidery
Step One: Hoop your base fabric with cut-away stabilizer. Thread the needle with embroidery thread. Start embroidering. The machine will embroider an outline of the spot for the applique fabric.
Step Two: Place a piece of applique fabric over the outline and start the machine again. It will embroider two outlines over the applique fabric and stop. Take the hoop from the machine and with a pair of sharp scissors cut away the excess applique fabric as close to the outlines as possible.
Step Three: Return the hoop to the machine. The next color will finish the raw edge of the outlines. We recommend to choose thread matching the color of the applique fabric.
Step Four: Colors 4 through 8 will finish the embroidery. Change threads as needed.
Color 4 embroiders the upper cross, we used golden-colored thread.
Color 5 embroiders the sides of the crown, we used silver-colored thread.
Color 6 embroiders the crosses on the sides, we used golden-colored thread.
Color 7 embroiders the inner circle of the crown, we used dark-grey thread.
Color 8 embroiders the edge of the lower circle, we used golden-colored thread.
