These are instructions on how to embroider designs from the Caribbean Vacation Applique Set.
The set contains 2 embroidery files for Commercial grade hoops (embroidery area 12" x 12" and more).
For smaller hoops, the files are split in half. There are 4 embroidery files for machines with embroidery area 7" x 12" or greater.
Besides embroidery threads (either polyester or rayon), you will need fabric for the applique and light-weight stabilizer under base fabric, such as Soft'n Sheer cut-away permanent stabilizer by Sulky, No-Show Mesh by Floriani or similar products by other companies.
You can also embroider the files without using the applique technique.
The turquoise blouse is embroidered without applique fabric. Skip the first 2 colors of the designs and embroider the third one.
Using any fabric colors - pencils, markers, inks - color the fabric inside the embroidery.
Both designs are for a V-neck of different depth. We embroidered them on the front and on the back of a summer blouse.

With a removable marker, mark the central vertical axis of the future embroidery. Stabilize the base fabric.
Commercial Hoop: hoop the base fabric and with the hoop template/grid check that the marked line on the fabric coinsides with the central vertical axis on the grid.
Mega Hoop, split design (file 2): hoop the base fabric and with the hoop template/grid check that the marked line on the fabric is parallel and 1/16" from the right margin of the grid.
Start the machine and embroider the first color. It will embroider the outline of the design to mark the position of the applique.
The photo below is for a split design.
Commercial Hoop: cover the outline with the applique fabric. Secure the fabric either with fabric tape or with pins outside the embroidery area.
Mega Hoop: fold the applique fabric in half and slightly press the fold line to mark its center. Cover the outline of the design, align the crease line with the right side of the hoop. Secure the fabric either with fabric scotch or with pins outside the embroidery area.
Start the machine and embroider the second color.
With a pair of sharp scissors, cut away the applique fabric around the outline.
This is a photo of the Commercial Hoop version:
Mega Hoop: be careful not to cut away the right part of the applique fabric!
Commercial Hoop: Return the hoop to the machine and finish the embroidery.
Mega Hoop: Return the hoop to the machine and finish embroidering the right part of the design.
Mega Hoop (file 1): Neatly fold the attached but still unused half of the applique fabric. Re-hoop the base fabric and with the hoop template/grid check that the marked line on the fabric is parallel and 1/16" from the left margin of the grid.
Embroider the left half of the design as described above.
