For these ornaments we used the designs from the Redwork Snowman Set.
You will need white polyester craft felt, tassels or small wire loops, 1/4" wide red ribbons to make hanging loops, regular scissors and scissors with zig-zag edges.
We did not use any stabilizer. However if you feel uncomfortable about the idea, use light-weight cut-away or tear-away stabilizer.
Embroider the same design twice: first as it is, then flip it in your software or machine, and embroider its mirror image.
Making Ornaments
Place both stitch-outs with wrong sides together.
Tuck a tassel between both layers in the lower part. Pin in place. If you need a hanging loop, cut a piece of ribbon 10"-12" long, fold in half and tuck the ends between the layers in the upper part. Pin in place.
Take the working piece to your sewing machine. Topstitch around the ornaments, about 1/8"- 1/4" from the embroidery stitches.
Separate the front and back stitch-outs near the tassel and the hanging loop and with regular scissors, cut away a small piece of each stitch-out over them.
With the "zig-zag" scissors, cut away the excess fabric around the embroidery.
