Slipper Pincushion

These are instructions on how to embroider and assemble the Slipper Pincushion Set .
The set consists of 2 embroidery designs for the large (5" x 7") hoop.

You will need heavy duty stabilizer or sewing interfacing, either solf leather, faux leather, or craft felt, and a small piece of foam.
For embroidery you will need light-weight cut-away stabilizer and embroidery threads.

Embroidery:

Step One: Hoop a piece of heavy duty stabilizer or sewing interfacing. Place a piece of working material over the hoop.
Embroider the design of the sole.

Step Two: Cut out the design close to the stitches. Take care not to cut through the stitches.

Step Three: Hoop another piece of stabilizer/intefacing. Cover it with a piece of leather or felt. Embroider the design of the top.

Step Four: Cut out the stitch-out close to the stitches.

Assembly:

Align the top and the sole. Pin them together.
Using zig-zag stitch and starting from the center, sew the parts together.

Place a piece of foam into the slipper and the pincushion is ready.
