Cutwork Lace Fruit Doilies

The Cutwork Lace Fruit Doily Set is available in 3 sizes for large, mega and commercial grade hoops.

You will need fabric, water soluble fabric-like stabilizer (such as Fabri-Solvy by Sulky, Avalon Plus by Madeira, Wash-Away, Aqua Magic) and embroidery polyester threads.

Please note, we DO NOT recommend to use rayon embroidery threads with water soluble mesh because its chemicals ruin the thread.

Large Hoop: Size: 129 x 129 mm Stitches: 25500 Colors: 1 Mega Hoop: Size: 149 x 149 mm Stitches: 33500 Colors: 1 Commercial Hoop: Size: 199 x 199 mm Stitches: 44500 Colors: 1

Step One: Hoop 2 layers of water soluble mesh. Start the machine. It will embroider the outline of the doily and stop.

Step Two: Place a piece of fabric over the mesh to cover the outline. You can pin the fabric to the mesh outside the embroidery area. Start the machine. It will embroider the outline of the doily and the outlines of the fruit and stop.

Step Three: Take the hoop from the machine. With a pair of sharp scissors cut away the fabric outside the doily and inside the circle, around the fruit, leaf and stem shapes. Take care not to cut through the stabilizer and stitches.

Step Four: Return the hoop to the machine and finish embroidering.

Step Five: Wash away the stabilizer and neatly spread on a flat surface and leave to air dry. Press.
