These are instructions on how to embroider the Autumn Leaves Applique and Cutwork Set.
The set contains 4 separate leave designs in the applique technique.

The set also contains one design with a group of leaves in the applique technique.

All the above designs should be embroidered in the same way:
Step One: Hoop the base fabric with a stabilizer. Start embroidery. The machine will embroider the outline of the design and stop.
Step Two: Cover the outline with a piece of applique fabric. Start the machine. It will embroider the outline of the leaf over the applique fabric and stop.
Step Three: Take the hoop from the machine. With a pair of sharp scissors cut the excess fabric outside the outline. Take care not to cut through the stitches.
Step Four: Return the hoop to the machine and finish embroidery.
Using the combination of all 5 designs you can get different compositions.
The sixth design in the set is in the cutwork technique. We recommend to use watersoluble mesh and polyester embroidery threads in steps 1,2 and 4, and cotton thread in step 3.
Step One: Hoop the base fabric with a watersoluble stabilizer. Start the machine. It will embroider the outline of the design and stop.
Step Two: In this step you can either start the machine to go on with embroidery on the base fabric or cover the outline with a piece of applique fabric and then start the machine. It will embroider the leave outlines over the applique fabric and stop.
Step Three: Take he hoop from the machine. With a pair of sharp scissors cut the base fabric inside the leaves' outline.
If you made the embroidery over the applique fabric, first cut away the applique fabric around the leaves, then cut the base fabric inside the leaf group.
Step Four: Return the hoop to the machine. In this step the bridges between the leaves will be embroidered. We recommend using cotton thread.
Step Four: Finish the embroidery, using embroidery polyester thread.
Cut away the excess watersoluble stabilizer.
The packages with PES, DST, EXP and VP3 formats contain 2 extra designs. You should embroider them using the instructions above.
