The Trillium Cutwork is a set of 2 designs which can be embroidered both as an insert and as a freestanding ornament. Here are the instructions for both versions.
You will need fabric, water soluble mesh and embroidery threads.
Freestanding Ornament
Note: we show this version with the oval design. The rectangular design is embroidered in the same way.
Step One: Hoop 2 layers of water soluble mesh. Start the machine. It will embroider the outline of the design and stop.
Step Two: Cover the outline with a piece of fabric and start the machine. It will embroider the same oval outline and the outline of flower over the fabric and stop.
Step Three: Take the hoop from the machine. With a pair of sharp scissors cut away the fabric in the areas shown on the picture - outside the oval and inside around the leaves and flowers. Take care not to cut through the stabilizer and stitches.
Step Four: Return the hoop to the machine and finish embroidering.
Wash away the stabilizer and neatly spread on a flat surface and leave to air dry. Press.

Step One: Hoop the fabric with water soluble mesh. Start the machine. It will embroider the outline of the design and stop. Start the machine again. It will embroider the outline and the outline of the flowers.
Step Two: Take the hoop from the machine. With a pair of sharp scissors cut away the fabric in the areas shown on the picture - inside the design around the leaves and flowers.
Step Three: Return the hoop to the machine and finish embroidering.
