These are instructions on how to embroider and assemble Fleur de Marguerite Cutwork Doily. Fleur de Marguerite is a set of 3 designs which are available in 2 sizes - for large (5" x 7" ) and mega (6 x 8") hoops.
The finished size of the doilies is 11" and 13" in diameter.
You will need fabric, water soluble mesh and embroidery threads.
Note: we show how to embroider the leaf design. The two flower designs are embroidered in the same way.
Step One: Hoop 2 layers of water soluble mesh. Start the machine. It will embroider the outline of the design and stop.
Step Two: Cover the outline with a piece of fabric and start the machine. It will embroider the same outline over the fabric and stop.
Step Three: Take the hoop from the machine. With a pair of sharp scissors cut away the fabric in the areas shown on the picture - around the leaves. Take care not to cut through the stabilizer and stitches.
Step Four: Return the hoop to the machine and finish embroidering.
Wash away the stabilizer, neatly spread on a flat surface and leave to air dry. Press.
For the doily embroider the "leaves" file 4 times, the "flower" file 4 times and the "center" file once.
Lay out the embroidered parts on your working table as shown below:
Using the same thread with which you made embroidery, handstitch the parts together in the places marked with red.
The finished size of the smaller doily is 11" in diameter and of the larger one is 13" in diameter.
