This is a very simple quilt that uses the applique designs from the Flowers in My Garden Applique Set. The finished size of the quilt is about 35" x 48".
You will need:
Out of pale yellow/cream fabric, cut 21 squares about 11" x 11" for easy hooping, after embroidery is finished you'll need to trim them to 21 rectangles measuring 6" x 9".
Out of white fabric, cut
Embroider the designs from the Flowers in My Garden Applique Set on the pale yellow squares as described in the instructions.
Trim all embroidered squares to 6" (tall) x 9" (wide). Arrange the blocks 3 in a row. Make 7 rows. When you are satisfied with the arrangement, sew the blocks together row-by-row.
Then sew the rows together. Seam allowance is 1/4".
Sew the left and right borders. Then sew the upper and the lower borders.
Now make the applique embroidery on the borders.
Now place the backing on a flat surface (table) face down. Cover with batting. Spread your working piece over it.
Pin all three layers together with 1" pins and start quilting. Quilt around the applique to fasten the embroidery and then all over the quilt as you like.
After the quilting is finished, press the work with heavy steam and square the work -- all corners should be 90 degrees and opposite sides should be of the same length.
Finish the raw edges with the binding.
