The finished size of the quilt is 17" x 18". It is made on the basis of the Courthouse Steps block. Twelve black and white cotton fabrics were used.
The central, embroidered part, is 7" x 8". On a piece of white fabric mark a rectangle measuring 7 1/2" x 8 1/2". Embroider the design, then cut out the rectangle.
Out of white fabrics with small black patterns cut:
2 strips measuring 7 1/2" x 2",
2 strips measring 10 1/2" x 2", and
2 strips measuring 13 1/3" x 2 1/2".
Out of black fabrics with small white patterns cut:
2 strips measuring 11 1/2" x 2 ",
2 strips measuring 14 1/2" x 2", and
2 strips measuring 18 1/2" x 2 1/2".
Assemble the block according to the diagram below:
The wall hanging is quilted in a free-motion style with invisible thread
To embellish the quilt, use beads, buttons and hot-fix crystals.
