These are intructions on how to embroider the SnowmanAppliqué. The design shows 9 colors, but you will need onlyblack and white threads. Different colors are used in the design to markstops. Besides embroidery threads, you will also need white fabric forthe face, red or orange for the nose and two fabrics of your choice forthe hat and scarf.
Step One: Hoop the base fabric. We did not use any stabilizersbecause our base fabric, cotton flannel, is thick enough, but if your basefabric is thin, you might consider using a layer of tear-away stabilizer.Thread the needle with white thread. Start embroidering. The machine willembroider an outline of the face and stop.
With a pair of sharp scissors cut away the excess fabric as close tothe outline as possible.
Step Two: Continue to use white thread. Return the hoop intothe machine. The machine will make an outline for the hat and stop.
Step Three: Thread the needle with black thread. Return thehoop into the machine. The machine will make an outline of the nose andstop.
Place a piece of red fabric over the outline of the nose. Start themachine. It will make an outline of the nose and stop.
Cut away the excess fabric as close to the outline as possible.
Step Four: Return the hoop to the machine. The machine willmake an outline of the scarf and stop.
Place a piece of fabric (we used red with white dots) over theoutline of the scarf. Start the machine. It will make the scarf outlineand stop.
